Connected Play & Data

Platform accounts

Purchases and entitlements are tied to the platform account on which they were obtained and do not transfer automatically between platform accounts.

Player Exchange

For connected player battles and Player Exchange, the game sends a limited snapshot of your current character so another player can be represented with the correct gameplay parameters. Character snapshots are retained in the Player Exchange pool for up to 30 days and are then removed.

Internet and updates

Memory Wastes can start and continue using bundled content and the last valid cache without a connection. Going online enables regular dynamic-content updates, connected features, entitlement checks, and game updates delivered through your platform.

Not included in the public character snapshot

  • Your full save file.
  • Money, full backpack contents, or storage.
  • Reputation, quests, current location, or travel history.
  • Awareness, Personal Archive, or other texts.
  • License key, access/refresh tokens, or installation ID inside the public character snapshot.

Data sent to connected services

  • The character name you enter.
  • Locale.
  • A randomly generated installation UUID (not a hardware fingerprint).
  • Authentication and session data used to access protected services.
  • Build and client snapshot identifiers.
  • A character snapshot: character type, attributes, skills, Life, Sickness, and equipped weapons and protection with their gameplay values.
